Don’t miss our ‘Law Tent’

Eliot Ness Fest is, among other things, a celebration of effective and conscientious law enforcement and public safety. That’s a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated most of his adult life to those worthy causes.

Each year, the festival features a prominent Law Tent on the courthouse square. It will be a busy place on Saturday with special programs and presentations. Here is the lineup:

  • U.S. Dept. of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • Cleveland Police Historical Society.
  • Handler Rod Johnson with tracking bloodhounds.
  • Sweden Township Police Chief Bryan Phelps with “Jay,” a police dog trained in drug detection and other special skills.
  • Reunion of the Descendants of the Untouchables, 2 pm to 4 pm (see schedule of events).
  • Entertaining presentation and book-signing by Eliot Ness biographers A. Brad Schwartz and Paul W. Heimel, 6 pm to 7 pm (see schedule of events).
  • “Public Safety First!,” with Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department and Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association.
